1. CGC Students bag 6.3 lac p.a Placement with Federal Bank

In a marked achievement, seven students from Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran and Gharuan got selected in Federal Bank, a leading bank in the country. It is students from MBA and PGDM trades who have been selected by the bank as Probationary officers. These selected candidates will get Rs 53,000 p.m. initially. Students from CGC who had 60 per cent minimum in SSC or an equivalent exam like +2 and 60 per cent in Graduation, (MBA/PGDM- 55%), with no backlogs on the date of campus process were eligible to sit for the selections. Also, candidates were not to exceed 26 years of age as on 01.11.2011. The selection process included a test and group discussion followed by interview. Federal Bank is here from pre-independence era. Though initially it was known as the Travancore Federal Bank, it gradually transformed into a full-fledged bank. The name Federal Bank Limited was officially announced in the year 1947 with its headquarters nestled on the banks on the river Periyar. Since then there has been no looking back and the bank has become one of the strongest and most stable banks in the country. S Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC while showing his elation over the selection of such large number of students in Federal Bank said that we are proud of the students who have got selected their achievement has added another feather to the success story of the group. We have promised to provide employment to our students always and many more big companies will be coming to CGC for selections in coming days. S Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said on the occasion that CGC committment to excellence has been proved time and again by the successful students. The students selected felt indebted towards the excellent teaching and assistance given by CGC for their placement. They said that it is only due to excellent facilities and teaching assistance for preparation for placement exams in the college that they have been able to find placement in one of the best industries in the country.

2.Royal Bank of Scotland selects 31 CGC students

In a major achievement, 31 students of the Chandigarh Group of Colleges got selected in The Royal Bank of Scotland, which is one of the retail banking subsidiaries of the The Royal Bank of Scotland Group. In this joint placement drive, 60 students got selected in all out of the 203 students who were there from various colleges across the region for the one day selection drive. Students of 2012 passing out batch of BBA and MBA Finance and Marketing streams were eligible to take part in the placement drive. Only those students having 50 per cent throughout were eligible to sit for the selections. A position of Officer is being offered to MBA/PGDM (Finance, Marketing) students whereas the BBA students will be taken in as trainees on a package of 1.65 lakh and 2.25 lakh respectively. Once selected, the students will join in Gurgaon office of the bank, informed an official of the company. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC while addressing the students said that the group aims at achieving excellence from its students always and this is one such proof we have with the selection of the CGC students in an institution of high repute. He congratulated the selected students and wished them a bright future. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said on the occasion that organizations like Royal Bank of Scotland bring pride to the CGC. The Royal Bank of Scotland has around 700 branches, mainly in Scotland though there are branches in many larger towns and cities throughout England and Wales. The Royal Bank of Scotland and its parent, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, are completely separate from the fellow Edinburgh based bank, the Bank of Scotland, which pre-dates The Royal Bank of Scotland by 32 years.

3.Colgate Palmolive offers a whopping Rs. 4.35 lacs Salary package to CGC students

CGC students of MBA & PGDM of 2012 batch got the opportunity to showcase their talent in placement drive conducted by Colgate Palmolive, a leading multinational group with sales surpassing $15 billion. The selection process included a presentation followed by an Aptitude test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. All the selected students will be offered PAN India location with a annual package of 4.35 lacs per annum.
