Of the technical institutes of Punjab , CBSA is the first institute which can rightfully claim of having made a significant contribution for the development of the State by setting up the first centre for e-governance as a joint venture with the Punjab Government. The main objective of e-governance is to provide an efficient and transparent administration, making the govt. machinery far more useful for the public. Consequently, the teachers and students have joined hands for the computerization of various departments of the state. It is thus a golden chapter in the history of CBSA to be a part of a wide ranging development programme of the State government. Inagurating this prestigious project Dr Pramod Kumar, Chairman, Punjab Governance Reforms Commission, highly appreciatiated the initiative taken by CBSA, and emphasized that this two-edged programme will bring efficiency and speedy working of Govt. Departments and excellent opportunities to work on live projects to the students. As a first step in this direction the project on computerization of jails has already been completed in partnership with Punjab Infotech.
