Entrepreneurship Development Cell

Chandigarh group of colleges has a vision to emerge as “center of excellence” in the field of technical education and research. CBSA,, Landran started its own Entrepreneurship Development programme in June 2008, which is a step in the direction of encouraging entrepreneurship among management students. Institution has successfully conducted workshops since last three years. Experts from academia and Industry address students during EDP programmes, and guide them to turn their enterprenurship ideas into reality. The various resource persons who addressed the students during the seminars were Mr. Sharad Bhatt, Mr. Safal Batra, Mr. Gaurav (All Alumni of IIM, Calcutta), Ms. Tapasya (Alumni of PEC, Chandigarh), MR. JS Kullar (Director STEP) Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, Dr. PK Khanna(Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana), Dr. Sunil Kumar Soni (Reader, Deptt. of Microbiology, PU Chandigarh). In this programme the young budding entrepreneurs prepare their business plans and present the same during the programme. In 2009 management felt the need of ED cell to continuously interact with students and experts, for which AICTE was approached with proposal to establish ED cell in college premises. Under the proposal, AICTE, New Delhi has sanctioned grant of 6,30,000 during 2010-11.ED cell has been established , and will start interacting with budding entrepreneurs in a continuous way. The main objectives of this cell are:

  • To identify abilities of students who want to be entrepreneurs.
  • Arranging sources of help and provide support systems and procedures.
  • To conduct training programs in various institutions and industry.
  • To utilize synergies of various departments to develop consultancy agency in setting up new ventures.
