Social Enterprise Case Competition (SECC)

Brief details of the event highlights: Social Enterprise Case Competition (SECC) was organized by University of South Australia (UniSA) in September 2020. It was a virtual competition with its activities spread over two months. It was based on the unique challenges faced by people in a rapidly developing world. In this competition, the students had drawn their previous studies in business to develop an innovative business idea that has a social impact outcome. A cross cultural team of students from UniSA, India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka students was formed to explore an area of disadvantage and had to propose a business case for an appropriate social enterprise. The idea could be designed to work as a start-up or in conjunction with an existing not-for-profit organization or a business case for an innovative idea, product, or service with social benefit, that could be pitched to an existing enterprise.

Students Participation: Three teams of MBA 2019-21 batch had participated, with our two students in each team. The participants were Mr. Ashish, Ms. Monika, Mr. Sourabh Arora, Mr. Palak Sachdeva, Mr. Yashu Aggarwal and Mr. Pankaj Sharma in this competition.

Teams had to compete in the three phases of developing, preparing & presenting the business plan. The team of Ms. Monika and Mr. Pankaj Sharma was declared first Runners-up among all participating teams across the globe and were chosen best among Indian teams.
