NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “BOOM AND BUST DYNAMICS: AN INDIAN PERSPECTIVE” On 6th Nov 2009

Chandigarh Business School, a venture of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, Mohali organized a National Conference on Finance on November 6th 2009 at their campus. The theme of conference was “Boom & Bust Dynamics: Indian Perspective”.
On this occasion Dr. HS VERMA, Professor, GJU, Hisar, Keynote speaker spoke on how the boom in the world economy was followed by a bust period. He remarked that there are two dimensions involved in this deliberation: International and national. The international perspective involved aspects like consumerism and speculative buying by the consumers. The banks in US failed to assess the credit worthiness of people who later defaulted resulting in bankruptcy of more than 200 banks. Due to globalization phenomenon the world markets were also affected resulting in the bust cycle. As the economy is recovering he suggested that Indians should capitalize on their intellectual base as it produces second largest professionals in the world. He emphasized that we should focus on creating a Knowledge based economy.
Mr. Baldev Garg, FCA, Vice Chairman, NIRC, observed that there is a need for regular check up of business health and insisted that people should save money for the rainy days. The interactive session saw students asking him questions related to financial aspects and stock markets.
Dr. NS Kothari, Professor, Ajmer University, observed that the recession did not have a very significant impact on the Indian economy. He traced the journey of Indian economy from the bust to the boom. He compared the growth of Indian economy from the Independence era to the pre LPG era and post LPG era. He emphasized the importance of ethics and values in running business successfully.
Mr. Alok Gupta, VP (Finance), Hughes Communication Pvt. Ltd, proposed a three box model as a strategy to counter boom and bust behavior. Box one emphasized on managing the present, box two suggested selectively forgetting the past and box three emphasized on creating the future. Box one in needed to manage the present competition and box two and three are needed for facing the future competition. He recommended that to stay ahead in competition the businesses need to innovate strategically, target “key success factors”, focus on linear growth and inculcate entrepreneurial skills in their managers. He also emphasized on the role of senior management people in aligning organization structure with strategy.
Mr. BB Jain, DGM (Finance), Health Biotech Pvt. Ltd. spoke about capital structure management, judicious investment, managing financial risk and overall operational efficiency for managing the boom and bust cycles.
The session was followed by queries from students.
Paper presentations were made by eminent persons of academia from various business schools of the region on various sub themes of the conference.


Techno-Hunt 2009 organized by department of Computer Applications

CYBEX (Club of Cyberspace Explorers, MCA Department), a club for young IT professionals of Chandigarh Business School, a constituent of the Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, Mohali, organized a Techno-Hunt 2009, an event for IT professionals on 5th NOV, 09. The objective of this program was to generate a mania among students and to explore the young talented IT professionals through various events. The Chandigarh Business School invited the students of nearby colleges from the fields of computer application like BCA, MCA, B.Sc. (Computers), MBA/PGDM (IT) to participate in this event.

The inaugural address was given by our director general, Dr.G.D.Bansal; he congratulated the students for the hard work put in behind such events. He also motivated them to bring laurels to college in academics as well as such events.

A number of events took place on the day in two sessions. Events like debate diamonds, software development, paper presentation guru, software testing took place. The highlight of the day was the quiz master event.

To honor the excellence of participants in various events a panel of experts from various premiere institutions and top IT companies were invited. Experts from the IT field helped to give away the students ample amount of knowledge which would help them to excel in this IT world (The World of Dynamic Nature). Mr Raj Gupta, Manager Hr, Xchanging technologies was the chief guest for the day. He interacted with the students and gave them importance of management and discipline.
Ms.Preeti Raina, manager HR, Red Alkemi was the guest of honor. She congratulated the college and department for taking initiative steps for organizing such events.
Honorable Chairman, sardar satnam singh sandhu also encouraged the students for organizing such events.
Vote of thanks was given by Executive director CBS, Dr.(Col)S.P.S.Bedi who once again encouraged the students and highlighted on the time and hardwork put in behind such events.

At the end of the event, Prize distribution ceremony took place. Our honorable Chief Guest, along with guest of honor, Chairman Sir, president sir, Director General Sir, Executive director sir awarded the winners of all the events with attractive prizes.


National Conference organized on “Information management computing and security” on 3rd Nov,2009

MCA department of Chandigarh Business School, a constituent of the Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, Mohali, organized a National Conference today at their campus. The theme of the Conference was “Information management computing and security”.

Speaking on the occasion, S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC, felt that in the present era of globalization, information computing and security is the basic need for success . He congratulated the applications department for organizing such conferences.

Large number of participants from well known institutions like Xaviers institute of management and entrepreneurship, Bangalore, surya school of applications, APS university, Rewa, Gian jyoti school of management, mohali,Chandigarh business school, landran participated and sent in their research papers.

Senior honchos from companies like Swaraj(Mahindra and Mahindra), Health Biotech, Pole Vault technologies, Infosys, shared their practical knowledge in the field of information. Mr Vinay Mehta CEO Polevalut technologies spoke about the role of information support for daily needs. Mr S.S.Randhawa, General Manager IT, Mahindra and Mahindra spoke about pin pointed approach to secure the information. He dwelled upon the differences in information in educational field and in other services. Ms Arti Sharma, IT head, Health Biotech, gave the comparison of earliers versions of windows operating systems with the latest version of Windows 7. Mr. Ashwathnarayan Shastry focused on the importance of information security. Other speakers also shared the innovations in the field of information and security as followed in their respective companies.

Various delegates from various colleges gave their presentations on their selected research papers highlighting the importance of information and security.

Key-note address was given by . Mr Vinay Mehta CEO Polevalut technologies  and Dr. S.P.S. Bedi, Executive Director, CGC and Director, CBS delivered vote of thanks. Mr. Ashwathnarayan Shastry headed the panel discussion and summed up the conference. Papers presenters were also awarded certificates at the valediction ceremony.
The conference proved to be a grand success and achieved the objectives as a whole.


Seminar on “Information Security and Ethical Hacking”

The MCA Department of CBS organized a Seminar on “Information Security and Ethical Hacking” held on 5th October 2009. Mr. Deepinder Singh Bindra, Mr. Tathagat Mukherjee and Ms. Ankita from Appin Technologies honoured the programme by delivering steps to enhance Ethical Hacking and Security. It was an interactive session and students gained much knowledge on the above said field.

 

 


Department of Computer Applications(MCA) organized a freshers party

Department of Computer Applications(MCA) organized a fresher’s party on 18th September,2009 to welcome the new students in the department. An entertaining afternoon was planned for the juniors where both 1st year and 2ndyear students showed their talent and wit. The party startted with the introduction of new students followed by number of dance items, songs, boliyan . The main attraction of the party was modeling show where Mr. and Miss Fresher were chosen by the judges. Jaspreet Singh has been choosen as Mr. Fresher and Swati Sharma as Miss Fresher. The first runners up for the event were Manpreet Gaur and Nitish. The titles were given by Ms. Bikrampal Kaur, HOD of the department. The event was ended up by a DJ evening for all the students.


Teacher’s Day was celebrated at CBS seminar hall on 5th Sep.

 Teachers day was celebrated on 05 Sep2009 at the CBS seminar hall Chairman S. Satnam Singh Sandhu and President S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal were the chief guests on this occasion. Regional Manager from Reliance Mutual Fund was the guest of honour. In his address, S. Satnam Singh Sandhu highlighted the role of teachers in ethical and moral building of the students.

Dr. Neena Sawhney, Principal of college of Education gave an effective presentation on the importance of Teacher’s Day and its connection with Dr. Radhakrishnan in whose memory it is celebrated.

The teachers also presented song and dance items which added color to the event.

The event was also marked by release of a book titled “Human Resource Management “Text & Cases” written by Dr. SPS Bedi & Dr. R.K Ghai followed by launch of CBS E-journal ‘Biz & Bytes’. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. S.P.S. Bedi and a sumptuous lunch for the faculty arranged by HMCT department.


National Conference on “INNOVATIVE MARKETING STRATEGIES: CURRENT TRENDS”. Organized at CBS on 11 sep, 2009.

Chandigarh Business School, a constituent of the Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, Mohali, organized a National Conference today at their campus. The theme of the Conference was “INNOVATIVE MARKETING STRATEGIES: CURRENT TRENDS”.
Speaking on the occasion, S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC, felt that in the present era of globalization, business organizations have to adopt innovative marketing techniques. He cited examples of innovative marketing from everyday life and brought out as to how innovations always carry the day. “Due to the present economic slowdown, the companies need to think differently to remain in business. Successful business leaders must adopt the right strategies and practices to address their market challenges”, he said.
S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC also opined that all organizations and especially the business organizations need to be innovative to stay competitive. He cited examples form Coca Cola, Nestle, Pepsi, Dabur etc regarding brand extension strategy.

Ms Misha Pawan Head, Marketing, Nagarro spoke about the role of soft ware support for CRM. She apprised the participants of innovative approaches adopted by her company. Mr Piyush Gupta, National Head Sales and Marketing, Manya Group spoke about pin pointed approach to hit the target clientele successfully and with least expenses. He dwelled upon the differences in marketing in educational field and in other services. Mr Ashwani Tripathi, Joint Gm sales & Marketing, Usha Shriram stressed the need of commitment to customers for ultimate success. Other speakers also shared the innovations in the field of marketing as followed in their respective companies.
The deliberations of the Conference threw light on the innovative practices being adopted by Indian companies in areas like Rural Marketing, Brand Management, Media and Communication Channels, Celebrity Advertising, Customer Relationship Management, Internet Marketing, Branding and Promotion, New Product and Service Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Green Marketing, Retail Marketing, Financial Marketing, Marketing Process Outsourcing, Rural Marketing, Tourism, Consumer Awareness etc.
A compendium containing selected research papers was also released by S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC, on the occasion.

Chandigarh Group of Colleges organized Workshop on "TEAM BUILDING AND LEADERSHIP"

Chandigarh Group of Colleges organized Workshop on "TEAM BUILDING AND LEADERSHIP" on 6th August 2009. It was conducted by Mr. Sofi Zahoor, director-HR, Quark.

All the Directors, Principals and Heads of departments of different colleges participated in the workshop. s

The Workshop consisted of three sessions. In the first session, the participants were asked to introduce themselves and tell something about their personality which was not known to others.

In the 2nd session the participants were asked to tell about good qualities of any two persons from the participants or from the organization.

In the 3rd session the participants were divided into four groups namely Prahar, Daksh, Himalaya and Know Thy Self (KTS). And they were asked to describe the CGC story by making a Collage with photographs cut out from different magazines.  KTS team was adjudged the best by Mr. Sofi Zahoor.

In the end Mr. Sofi Zahoor made a power point presentation on Geese and their flying formations bringing out useful lessons on tem work, leadership, camaraderie and group dynamics.

The workshop was very helpful in bringing the participants closer as a team and everybody felt that we should have more sessions like this in the near future.

Placement By Devyani Foods Pvt Ltd & American Express was held for the students of HMCT for campus placement drive on 07 Aug, 2009, participants were students of HMCT 2009/2010 batch.


Visit by President, Swiss School of Management, Rome , Italy

Dr. Missimiliano Bracale, President, Swiss School of Management and Mrs.Bracale visited Chandigarh Group of Colleges on 29.7.09. Dr. Bracale accompanied by Mrs Bracale visited the Integrated Campus, Chandigarh Group of Collegs, Gharuan and signed an MOU with the same. Dr Bracale also   interacted with the faculty and the students at Landran campus. Dr. Bracale enlightened students with his rich international experience and motivated them to become financially independent. He further encouraged and inspired students of Chandigarh Business School to opt for dual degree program being offered by SSM, Rome. He highlighted upon the ever-growing job opportunities in India being one of the fastest growing nations in the world.


Chandigarh Business School conducts Faculty Development Programme

Chandigarh Business School, a premium constituent of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, organized a Faculty Development Programme on “Excellence in Teaching through Relevance, Rigor and Research” at CBS Campus, Landran, Mohali from 13th to 18th July  2009 .
S.Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman and S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, Chandigarh Group of Colleges welcomed the speakers, participants and other dignitaries to the Programme. Mr. Sandhu in his Inaugral Address expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries and speakers for having spared their precious time to address the participants during the programme. Dr [Col] SPS Bedi, Director CBS gave a brief overview of all the topics included in the programme and expressed the hope that the objectives of the programme will be amply achieved. Eminent speakers from Industry and academia participated in the programme. 
The progamme addressed various critical issues, new ideas, techniques, methods related to the teaching methodology. The topics covered included Development of Teaching Skills, Use of Effective Teaching Pedagogy to counter Absenteeism, Development of Teaching Skills and Strategies for Empowering Self Directed Learning, Using Case Based Learning to Enrich Curriculum etc.
During  the  valedictory  session, Er. Avinash Sharma, Director HR and Admin, CGC concluded the programme by taking the feedback from the participants and covering the salient features of all sessions of Faculty Development Programme. He thanked all the speakers who made a valuable contribution to the proceedings of the FDP. Overall the whole Faculty Development Programme was a grand success and afforded the Faculty members a chance to listen to a number of versatile & excellent speakers to share their views and experiences on various topics of the programme. Certificates were given to the participants at the end of the programme.


National Seminar on " Coping with the Downturn: Changing HR Paradigm

Chandigarh Business School organized a National Conference on “Coping with the Downturn: Changing HR Paradigm” on Friday, 17th April. 2009 at CBS Seminar Hall, Landran,  Mohali.
The National Seminar comprised of three technical sessions, each session addressed various critical issues related to the economic downturn and what HR professional need to do in these times of crisis. The renowned speakers shared their opinions about the changing HR paradigms in the current volatile economic situation.


Inaugural Session: 
The Seminar began with the formal Lamp Lighting and Saraswati Vandana. S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman and S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, Chandigarh Group of Colleges welcomed the dignitaries and delegates to the Seminar. Mr. Sandhu in his welcome speech expressed his gratitude to the delegates for having spared their invaluable time. He stressed on the need for more skilled manpower and showed concern for HR related problems being faced by the corporate world due to economic recession.
Dr. [Col] SPS Bedi, Director CBS, gave the Seminar Overview and discussed the importance of HR in coping with present downturn and what strategies HR managers worldwide need to adopt in order to revitalize their workplaces.  
Ist Technical session: Global Recession: Damaged, Downsized Souls- How to Revitalize the Workplace
Mr. Sofi Zahoor, VP, HR, Quark India spoke that in the current business environment skill up gradation, experimentation and innovations have become norms for any organization’s survival. The role of HR in these times is to energize people, create branding and try to retain its most talented professionals. It is a also a time to weed out the unproductive employees of the organizations.
Mr. Roy Joseph, VP, HR, RJ Corporations Ltd. said that cost cutting is the mantra being chanted by the organization in recession. This is the time to use best talent people. There is need to cut wasteful expenditure, do talent mapping of employees  and identify such employees  who can take the organization to higher levels in this scene of recession.
IInd Technical session: Changing role of leadership in troubled times
Mr. Shashank Jagirdar, VP, HR, Le Passage to India discussed the topic with the help of various video clippings. He stressed upon points like whether companies are on the right track or not, which type at leadership role is required by the companies / or corporate leaders. He distinguished between two types of people in the organizations: visionary and leaders.  Visionary people are those who show the path and leaders are the ones who lead.  These people can do wonders in the current economic shack. By citing examples of various companies e.g. TATA, HLL, Wipro etc. he told how HR professionals can bring their organization out of these tumultuous period times.  By adopting right management, right programmes, policies having good leadership styles, , by focusing on employee morale, employee involvement corporate leaders can save their organization in this economic meltdown.

Mr. Arindam Chakarborty, CEO. Maspro Solutions focused on what is successful leadership and how it is helpful and beneficial in the current scenario.  He told that it is time to rethink, to restructure value system, culture, leadership, HR programmes and processes. He suggested that HR managers should  mull over skill upgrading, building competencies, employee engagement,  organize Training & Development programmes to build and improve knowledge, skills and capabilities  of employees in the organizations to face this big challenge and to gain competitive advantage.

Mr. Debashish Paul, VP, HR, McCann Erickson discussed the importance of giving autonomy to its employees, motivating them, encouraging entrepreneurship and  innovation amongst employees.  He also stressed upon employee value propositions, coaching, mentoring, right leadership style which should be adopted by the HR managers in the companies to keep the motivation level high and to raise the morale of the employees.

Mr. Darshan Kumar, CEO, Khosla Machines Pvt. Ltd., cogitated about the various opportunities present in the current period at crisis.  He stressed on the importance of training, building skills of existing workforces and the value of transparent communication in retaining the employees.

Panel Discussion: Retaining and Maintaining the Employee Loyalty in the Tumultuous Times
The panelist in the discussion participated in the session with full gusto and enthusiasm. The students, faculty members and delegates from various educational institutions and industry asked numerous relevant questions pertaining to retention of talented employees and measures being adopted by the organizations to maintain and develop them in these turbulent times. The speakers came out with innovative suggestions like utilizing the time for enhancing the employees’ skills, sending people on vacations for de stressing, wage freeze, cutting down unproductive expenses, identifying new markets/ distribution channels.
The participants came out enlightened and were moved by the pioneering suggestions offered to tackle the current critical situation. Overall the seminar was a grand success and benefited all those who attended it.

 


EDP Workshop at Chandigarh Business school

Chandigarh Business School organized a four day Entrepreneur Development Programme for the volunteer students of various colleges functioning under the umbrella of Chandigarh group of Colleges from 17th to 20th march 2009.

Mr. Sharad Bhatt and and Mr. Safal Batra (Both Alumuni of IIM, Calcutta) were the chief resource persons of the programme,while there was a galaxy of  other successful entrepreneurs from various fields who addressed the students to share their experience with the audience.

The aim of organizing this event was to kindle the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the young and budding future leaders of the modern India.

60 volunteer students from various colleges functioning under the umbrella of CGC participated in the above mentioned programme.

The students also prepared their Business Plans and presented the same during the programme. It was encouraging and thoroughly satisfying to see the standard of business plans prepared by the young and budding entrepreneurs.

The plans included provision of practical knowledge to the students, establishment of billiards and snooker, health services, biodegradable plastic bags, Tiffin services, packaged fruit juice, e-library services, robotic clubs, communication skills and personality development, dry-cleaning and washing services.

CBS is highly encouraged with the gratifying response received from the students and has decided to set up an Entrepreneurship Development Centre for regular conduct of related activities.      


The second Annual Placement Day was celebrated at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, on 4.3.09.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Rajnish Arora, Vice-Chancellor, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, said that academic programmes will be started in the new campus from 2010. Varsity also plans to set up six schools of excellence for R&D and post-graduate programmes. While accepting the offer made by Chandigarh Group of Colleges to re-vamp the PTU website, Dr. Arora said that from the next session, facility for online counseling and admissions will be started.

In response to some suggestions made by CGC Chairman, Sh. Satnam Singh Sandhu,   Dr. Rajneesh Arora  assured that special steps will be  taken to tackle the problems like delay in declaration of results. He also provided information about various others plans of the University.

Dr. Arora exhorted the students to look for self-employment opportunities in these days of economic slow-down. He also distributed offer letters of various national and multi-national companies to the selected students of Engineering, Pharmacy, Bio-technology, Business Management, Hotel Management and B.Ed.

In their address on the occasion, Sh. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman and S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, stressed upon the need to improve the image of the University. Suggestions were also made to get the University accredited, to start a University news letter and need to revise the syllabi. Dr. S.P.S. Bedi, Director, Chandigarh Business School, apprised the Vice-Chancellor about the placement record of all the group of colleges. Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General, CGC, proposed a vote of thanks. 


‘UDAAN-09’-MEGA MANAGEMENT & JOB FEST ORGANISED BY CBS 

The State level mega Management and Job Fest “UDAAN-2009” organized by Chandigarh Business School [CBS] at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran  turned out to be a perfect match of quality and quantity of candidates for 50 companies hunting for prospective employees. With students and professionals from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, J&K, Rajasthan, Delhi, UP, HP and other states thronging the fest, the visiting companies had ample number of options to recruit the best among the best.


With companies from Engineering, IT, Business Management, Hotel Management, Airlines-Tourism, Pharmaceutical, Bio-Technology and Education hunting for professionals, the job fest saw more than 5700 students participating during the 1st day of the job fest. Many corporate giants, including Tata Teleservices Ltd, IDS Infotech Ltd, Sebiz Infotech Ltd, Convergys, Sri Ram Group, Hotel Radisson, Bharat Yatra Travels, IOL Chemical & Pharma, Bio-Matrix Technologies, Steel Strips, Tynor and among the prestigious schools of the region included Doon International School, Golden Bells, The Millennium, The British School and many more took part in the recruitment drive. While most of the students had got themselves enrolled online for the job fest, the drive went on smoothly.


The 2-day fest which included management fest ‘UDAAN ’09 was inaugurated by Mr. Sachit Jain, Executive Director, Vardhaman Industries. With all praise for CGC, Mr. Jain said that despite recession, the companies are looking for hardworking and competent professionals. India will be the 1st country to recover from the period of recession and we should learn lessons from the recession period rather than criticizing our past policies, he added.  While addressing the students, he added that in order to become a good entrepreneur, it was important for the students to develop communication and human resource skills. Terming Punjabi’s as the best managers, Mr. Jain said that the only thing we need to work upon is to erect a vision and apply professional approach in order to realize that vision.


A number of events marked the management fest in which over 200 students from different B-schools participated in the Management Fest organized by CBS. CEC, Landran team was adjudged 1st in Parshnotri, The Management B-quiz while team from Rayat-Bahara stood 2nd in the event. Team from ITS, Ghaziabad stood 1st in the presentation contest, while team from AIMT, Ambala stood 1st in the Business Plan competition. GGS, Kharar won Vigyapan-The Advertisement Carnival contest, while team from CBS Landran won the Debate competition as well as Management Games conducted by AIMA officials. The overall trophy went to CBS, Landran.


Congratulating the winners, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, said the aim of the fest was to provide a common platform on which students from different institutes could showcase their managerial acumen.

Report on Faculty Development Programme - “A Roadmap for Effective Teacher Training”

Chandigarh Business School organized a Faculty Development Programme on “A roadmap for Effective Teacher Training” from 15th december2008 to 27th December 2008 at CBS campus, Landran”, Mohali. The FDP is two week programme. Each session of the progamme addressed various critical issues, new ideas, techniques, methods related to the teaching Methodolgy. Eminent speakers from Industry and academia participated in the seminar.
The Programme started with Saraswati Vandana. S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman and S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, Chandigarh Group of Colleges welcomed the speakers, participants and other dignitaries to the Programme. Mr. Sandhu in his Inaugral Address expressed his gratitude to the participants, dignitaries and speakers for having spared their precious time to address the audience on the topic of effective Teacher training. Dr [Col] SPS Bedi, Director CBS gave the introduction of all the topics included and gave Overview of the whole programme.
Dr. H.S. Saini, Principal, CEC spoke about “Teaching Methodologies”. He told the various characteristics of a good teacher, benefits of being a good teacher. He also discussed the right skill set for a teacher, teaching-learning process and the expectations of the institute from teachers. He touched various points in the teaching-learning Process and also said that proper planning, execution, review, analysis and auditing should be done by every teacher on a regular basis to be effective in the classroom.
Mr. Satvir Singh, Principal, CCHMCT talked about “Etiquettes and Mannerism”. He discussed various social rules for the professionals. According to him social etiquette rules should be used by professional in every situation. He told that possessing a high level of etiquette knowledge and skills builds confidence, helps to establish rapport with others more easily and gives the organization an overall polished, professional image. He talked about telephone etiquettes and dining etiquettes too. He told that having knowledge of social etiquettes builds confidence and helps create a winning style and gives professionals the tools to impress clients and colleagues.
Dr. SPS Bedi, Director, CBS spoke about “Work Etiquettes & Stress Management.” He said that today’s casual workplace has endangered professional courtesy. Practicing the golden rule or treating others as we ourselves would like to be treated should be more commonplace than it is today. We may explain or excuse our laxity as “being more informal,” but most of the time we’re just being rude. He said that organizations are often judged by the way their employees behave, both inside and outside the workplace. He also opined that good manners facilitate open communication, problem solving and enhance trust and respect. These are the building blocks for good work relationships.He said that it shall be the duty of every employer to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work of all employees.
Dr. GD Bansal, DG, CGC discussed the “Role and Attributes of an Effective Teacher.” He opined that teacher should not remain confined only to teach the students but he should also play the role of a Mentor for the students. Talking about the right skill-set he said that Teacher should have good communication skills, conceptual skills, problem solving skills as well as leadership skills.
Dr. (Col) SPS Bedi, Director, CBS also made a delivery on “Time Management.” Talking about managing your time he focused on some important Time management Issues as prioritizing, planning, scheduling, organizing, meeting, meeting, delegating, collaborating, decision-making and procrastinating etc. He also delved into time management process and various time management tools and techniques.
Mr. Rajwinder Singh, Head, Deptt of CSE delivered lecture on computer tools e.g. MS Excel, Power Point, MS Word and also on Internet concepts. He clarified the doubts about use of potent Microsoft tools in day to day functioning of the Institutes.
Dr. J.S. Saini, NITTER, Chandigarh spoke about “Sampling plan and instruments for Data Collection.” He talked about various Sampling concepts e.g. universe, sample, sample size, sample error etc. he also focused on different Sample Designs and instrument, techniques for Data collection. He also gave tips on report writing and presentation of results.
Mr. Dinesh K Sindwani, CEO, Vardhman Special Steels Ludhiana spoke about, “Industy Institute Interface.” He talked about constantly changing business paradigms/needs and growing complexities due to lack of a world class competent, talented and innovative workforce. He discussed about increased demand for business professionals to manage business effectively and to sustain vital competitive edge in global economic environment, world class products & services required. He also focused on some prominent gaps that are generally observed in fresh recruites by the industry e.g. lack of communication skills, team-work, emotional intelligence, aptitude, attitude, values, decision making skills, problem solving skills etc. he also gave very good suggestions to enhance Industry-Institute Interface to build competencies required at various levels.
Mr. Sofi Zahoor, Director HR-Quark, India talked about “Expectations of industries from the Institues.” He discussed about the expectations of industry from fresh engineering & management recruits, need for people with an attitude to learn, willing to change, a strong sense of loyalty and scouting for “ready to employ” work force for sustainable & competitive advantage. He also focused on to build competencies related to Self-development, Interpersonal development and Leadership development.
Col. Brij Mohan Sabhlok CEO, Turning pointmade a delivery on Positive thinking and Guru- Shishya relationship beyond classrooms.
Capt. Balwant Gurunay, a renowned motivator and corporate trainer spoke about Motivation and Team-Building. He made an impressive presentation based on an old war movie”Guns of Navrone”. He discussed about the need to conduct various team- building exercises and workshops on motivation among students by institutes. He spoke about to develop leadership skills, interpersonal skills, decision making skills in the younger generation and they should also learn how to work in team.
Mrs. Bittu Sandhu, MD, Strides Eventz talked about Effective Presentation Skills. She gave some important tips to improve communication skills, to remove hesitation and stage fear, to boost up morale knowing your own strengths and weaknesses.
Dr. GS Batra, Punjabi University, Patiala discussed “Methodology of Case Study Development and Analysis”. He said that the case study method combines knowledge acquisition with significant involvement of participants as active learners. It is more interesting than pure lectures and textbook courses. Discussing the importance of case study method he told that the extra thinking and study about situations and management results in more learning. He also said that a managerial viewpoint is developed and case analysis enhances problem solving skills among the students. He also focused on Case analysis process and various sources of Data/inputs.
Dr. P.K.Tulsi, NITTTR, Chandigarh talked about “Framework of Research Methodology and Research Design.” She talked about purpose of research and research methods e.g. quantitative methods and qualitative methods in detail. She also discussed how to select a good research design in different conditions by giving detailed presentation on various research designs.
Dr. Neena Sahwney, Principal, CCE dwelled upon “Teaching Methodologies.” She talked about the appropriate and good teaching methodologies that should be adopted by every teacher to be effective in the classroom.
Mr. Ramesh Kundu, Former Director, HR- Quark City spoke about the industry expectation from the institutes. He touched various points e.g. knowledge, problem-solving skills, decision making skills, creativity, innovative approach etc. are some of the requirements to be fulfilled by the fresh recruits to take a competitive edge in this dynamic world.
During the valedictory session, Er. Avinash Sharma, Director HR and Admin, CGC concluded the Programme by covering the salient features of all sessions of Faculty Development Programme. He thanked all the speakers who made a valuable contribution to the proceedings of the FDP. He also thanked the delegates, faculty members who made untiring efforts to plan and execute the FDP in a clock like precision. He also thanked the media and others for their contribution to the Programme.
Overall the whole Faculty Development Programme was a grand success and provided the Faculty members a good number of versatile & excellent speakers to share their views and experiences on various topics of the programme.


National Conference on "Global Financial Crises: Likely impact on Indian Economy"

Chandigarh Business School organized a National Conference on “Global Financial Crisis: Likely Impact on Indian Economy” on Saturday, 29th Nov. 2008 at CBS campus, Landran”, Mohali. Dr. J. Sadakkadulla, Regional Director-RBI, graced the occasion as Chief Guest & delivered the “Keynote address”. 

The National Seminar comprised of three technical sessions, with two tea breaks and a lunch; each session addressed various critical issues related to Financial Crisis. Eminent speakers from Industry and academia participated in the seminar. 

Inaugural Session: 

The Seminar began with the formal Lamp Lighting and Saraswati Vandana. S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman and S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, Chandigarh Group of Colleges welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries to the Seminar. Mr. Sandhu in his welcome speech expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries and speakers for having spared their precious time to address the audience on a burning topic of utmost importance when this global financial crisis has shattered the entire World’s economies. Dr [Col] SPS Bedi, Director CBS gave the Seminar Overview. 

Dr. J. Sadakkadulla, Regional Director, RBI, Chandigarh, gave the keynote address. He said that no country can be left unaffected in this era of globalization. He discussed the background of the financial crisis in detail. “It all started with the sub-prime crisis in the USA. The banks had floated exotic financial products based on securitization, leveraging etc. Due to increase in interest rates, the defaults against loans started, resulting in the present crisis”, he said. He termed the problem as a “financial tsunami”. He said that financial engineers should not go overboard and need to have a re-look at various financial products.

According to Dr. Sadakkadulla, the Indian banks are safe as none of them has direct exposure in the US financial markets. Only overseas branches of some Indian banks have some exposure. He said that solvency of the banks is not a problem but liquidity problem can be there. To overcome the liquidity problem, RBI has injected Rs. 2.7 lakh crore into the economy by taking steps like reduction in CRR and SLR. He also opined that Indian banks, like Indian people, are conservative and this approach will help us in weathering the storm.

He concluded by thanking and complementing the CGC and CBS for organizing a timely conference on the topic of financial crisis and inviting him as the Chief Guest. 

At the end of inaugural session Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General CGC thanked the Chief Guest for having spared his most valuable time to grace the seminar. He thanked him for his words of wisdom on tips how to handle the various operations in this crucial period effectively. He also thanked media persons, speakers & other participant who had contributed whole heartedly to make the event of success. 

In the ‘First session, the theme was “Impact of global Financial Crisis on Indian Economy. This session was addressed by Dr. RS Ghuman, Dean& Head, Deptt of Economics, Punjabi University, Mr. Bharat Goel, SVP cum company Secretary; Hero cycles Ltd. Mr. Gursharan Bajaj, Zonal Head- Religare & Dr. AK Vashisht- (UBS), Panjab University. 

Dr. R.S. Ghuman was the first speaker to address the delegates. Dr. Ghuman traced the roots of the present Global financial crisis from the period of great depression in 1930s, Breton woods, the south-east Asian Crisis in 1990s. Dr. Ghuman cited the integration of the Indian economy to the World markets, notably US as the major cause of the present economic crisis in India.  

Mr. Bharat Goel, SVP cum CS, Hero cycles Ltd, spoke about the sub-prime mortgage crisis in US and its impact on Indian economy as well. Mr. Gursharan Bajaj, Zonal head, Religare focused on the volatility in the Stock Markets which is the clear indication of the direct impact of financial crisis on Indian Economy. 

Dr. A.K. Vashisht, UBS, PU, dwelled upon the remedial measures that can be taken to tide over the current financial crisis. He spoke about the need to rethink the international financial and banking system, reforming the Breton Woods Institutions (IMF, World Bank) and need to shift focus towards the emerging economies. 

In the ‘Second technical session’, the theme was “Innovative Tools & Techniques to tackle Global Crisis” The speakers for this session included Mr. Anil Katia, State Head, HDFC Bank Ltd, Dr. J.S. Pasricha, Head Dept. of Commerce, Punjabi University & Dr. Sumanjeet. 

Mr. Anil Katia, State Head, HDFC Bank Ltd, proposed various financial innovative techniques to handle the crisis. He suggested separating the each financial entity according to their risk profile. Each financial entity needs to be regulated. He focused on curative fiscal policy and tax legislations in this crucial period. 

Dr. J. S. Pasricha discussed the major reasons behind the global crisis. He quoted over-leveraging and derivatives are no longer hedge against the losses. According to him underdeveloped countries are blindly following the developed economies like US that’s why these countries are facing the current situation. He said the most affected industries in India are IT, Textile and the manufacturing industry. 

Dr. Sumanjeet said that it is very tough time for Indian industries as they are more dependent on raw materials. He said due to recession the Indian rupee devalued and this depreciation of rupee may increase the level of inflation in the country. He also talked about some innovative methods to overcome the prevailing problem. 

The “Third session” was a panel discussion on “Double Figure growth Rate for Indian Economy-A Dream or Possibility?” The participants in this session included Dr. R. S. Ghuman, Dean & Head Deptt of Economics, Punjabi University, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Chawla, Director, Master Trust Ltd, Mr. Anil Katia, Dr. J.S. Pasricha & Dr. Sumanjeet. 

Dr. R. S. Ghuman, Dean& Head Deptt of Economics, Punjabi University opened the Panel Discussion by giving his valuable views on the theme and raised various issues like greed& corruption, black marketing etc which are the major causes behind the crisis. He also mentioned following remedial measures to face the crisis:

1.   Role- Reversal

2.   Social Movement

3.   Wider Distribution of income

4.   Inclusive, growth and development  

Panel members expressed their diversified view in different context. 

Mr Anil Katia talked about various solutions to the challenges. He said that companies need to have clear business vision. There should be commercially viable projects and cooperation between state and central Govt is essential. 

Dr. Sumanjeet spoke about the use of innovative techniques to solve the challenges in the limelight of global & domestic environment. Companies should formulate some effective policy of our own and not blindly follows the policy of other countries. 

Mr. G S Chawla talked about some remedial measures which should be taken to reduce disparity which leads to more growth automatically. He further focused on the following points which are essential for any country to flourish and grow in current scenario:

  • Close monitoring of Capital Market by various regulatory bodies

  • Proper implementation of policies and plans

  • Entrepreneurs friendly regime

Towards the end, Dr. R K Ghai, Dean CBS concluded the conference by covering the salient features of all sessions.

Academic partnership with Swiss School of Management

 

 

Swiss School of Management having Management School setup in Italy, London and headquarters at Switzerland has joined hands with Chandigarh Business School, Landran to form academic alliance in order to provide world class education in the field of Business Management. The academic alliance would enable the undergraduate students currently pursuing their BBA degree from CBS to pursue higher education at Swiss School of Management, while those pursuing their post-graduation course of PGDM can opt for dual degree program.

Dr. Massimilioino Bracale, President, Swiss School of Management discussed the proposal with Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, Chandigarh Group of Colleges during his visit to the campus. Dr. Bracale lauded the efforts of the management for providing world class infrastructure to the students of the region.

While interacting with the students, Dr. Bracale informed them that the Swiss Banks manage about 1/3rd of world’s total capital. “Switzerland is known for providing Quality in what ever they do”, he said. Dr. Bracale further added that Switzerland has the world’s best Business Schools, Polytechnics, Hotels and Hospitals. The common thinking to make our students as the best professionals in their field has brought us and CBS Landran together sharing common platform. With some of their students working for organizations like United Nations, Swiss Bank, the students of CBS in association with Swiss School of Management will also get International opportunities.

Satnam Singh Sandhu and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal welcomed the proposal put up by the Swiss School of Management to form academic alliance which would enable the students of CBS, Landran to earn Swiss degree along with their Indian Degree which would add to their professional and academic life and will ultimately enhance their employment options.

Chandigarh Business School, Landrn, Mohali organized a National Conference on “ A new vision of marketing in the 21st Century: Opportunities and challenges for India  Inc” on 12 & 13 Sep,2008. The two days conference comprised of 3 technical sessions on the first day to include retail, services and e-marketing. The speakers amongst others included Mr Kamal Vadera, CEO, TCY online, Dr Prem Kumar, Advisor, Vardhaman group, Mr KA Ravi, Sr VP,Swamy Vivekanand BBDO, New Delhi, Mr Arpan Agarwal, Director, Northstar Safety Solutions and Mr Balwant Gurunay, Corporate Trainer.
The conference turned out to be a grand success and all the participants were thoroughly impressed with the deliveries of the experts.
The conference later witnessed research based paper presentation by the   various Academic Institutes. The students participated whole heartedly and asked a large number of questions to clarify their doubts on various vital issues of marketing scenario of 21st century.

Seminar on “Indo US Nuclear deal- A boon or a Bane”

Chandigarh Business School organized a seminar on the topic” “Indo US Nuclear deal- A boon or a Bane” on 29th July, 2008 at CBS campus. Eminent speakers like Mr Kanwar Sandhu, Editor, Hindustan Times, Dr Pramod Kumar, Director Institute of Development and Communication, Chandigarh, Prof MM Puri, Ex VC, Panjab University, Chandigarh, Prof UC Singh, Ex Dean Academics, Punjabi Universty, Prof H S Mehta, Ex Head, English Deptt, P.U. Chandigarh spoke on the subject and later participated in a panel discussion. The seminar remained like a live wire with all the speakers giving their views in a very forceful and effective manner. The presentations made by the speakers answered all the questions that were lurking in the minds of the participants. The students actively participated and asked intelligent and meaningful questions which were amply appreciated and answered by the speakers. The Seminar was an unparalleled success of the “Team CBS.”


Lecture was organized by CBS on Leadership for Modern Times on Friday, 4th july, 2008.

An Extended Lecture had been organized by CBS on Leadership for Modern Times on Friday, 4th july, 2008 for which Mr. Vinay Mehta, CEO, Pole Vault Technologies, Chandigarh was invited as a guest speaker at CBS. He emphasized on the significance of Leadership Skills in the recent times for tailor-made managers for the holistic development of  the organization. The lecture was followed by an interrogative session conducted by the guest speaker to quench the thirst of budding managers in which the students participated actively & enthusiastically. The students found the session very informative and useful. During the lecture, the Director, CBS, the Dean, CBS and the other faculty members were mainly present.


Lecture on Cross-Cultural Management was held on Wednesday, the 14th May, 2008.

Mr. Paul Brothe, Managing Director of the U.S based multinational giant Quark India, visited the Chandigarh Group of Colleges on Wednesday, the 14th May to deliver lecture on Cross-Cultural Management with special reference to Mergers & Acquisitions to the students of Chandigarh Business School. Mr.Sofi Zahoor, Director – HR, Quark India accompanied the visiting dignitary. Mr. S.S. Sandhu, Chairman and Mr. A.C. Sharma, Director-HRD of the Chandigarh Group of Colleges extended a hearty welcome to Mr. Brothe.

Delivering his lecture Mr. Brothe said that Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) is the key to growth in the present era of globalization, for the corporates, countries and even economies. He cited the examples of corporates from around the world such as, Tatas, Microsoft, Cisco etc. to make his point. Notwithstanding 60 per cent of the cases turning out to be  failures in Mergers and Acquisitions, it does not undermine its importance. Mr. Brothe cited language, organizational structure and technology as some of the problems that need to be tackled for smooth M&As. His lecture was followed by a question- answer session in which Mr. Broth along with Mr. Zahoor answered the enthusiastic queries from the students and the faculty members. Dr. G.D. Bansal, the Director-General of Chandigarh Group of Colleges thanked the visiting dignitaries for the informative and thought provoking lecture and for visiting the institute.


Hero Mind Mine Organized a PD & Communication Skills Workshop at Chandigarh Business School on 22nd April’08

 Hero Mind Mine a reputed company in the field of training & development conducted a workshop for the students of Chandigarh Business School. Mr. Vishal Gupta a Sr. Training Consultant & Mr. Robin S Grewal engaged the students in a gripping & educative session to impart training in personality development & improvement of communication skills. They also organized interesting games to draw some valuable lessons for the participants. The students & the faculty thoroughly enjoyed & benefited from the workshop.

  Dr. S.K. Salwan ( Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PTU, Jalandhar) delivered the Inaugural Address. In his address he recalled the sterling qualities of Human Resource Management possessed by Former Indian President, His Excellency  Dr. A.P.J Kalam. He cited several examples as to how a leader can inspire, motivate, counsel & build his team to operate at optimum level of efficiency. He called upon the participants to be prepared on the global competition during the days ahead. The HR functions of Hiring, Placement, Training, Motivating, Compensating & above all retaining the skilled manpower will ave to be made more effective so as to avoid cost of retraining, replacement etc.

 At the end of inaugural session Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General CGC thanked the Chief Guest for having spared his most valuable time to grace the seminar. He thanked him for his words of wisdom on tips how to handle the human resource effectively. He appreciated the examples of former Indian President cited by the Chief Guest in support of team building, motivation & leadership of the human resource. He also thanked media persons, speakers & other participant who had contributed whole heartedly to make the event of success.

 First Technical Session theme was “Talent management for cooperate excellence in a boundary less world”. Mr. Sofi Zahoor, Director HR-Quark in has presentation explained the talent management model based on performance & potential grid. He advocated that while the employees high on potential & performance need to be retained at all cost, the employees low on both the scales need to be divested. The remaining employees need to be counsellors, trained & motivated to performance & show an upward movement in the grid.

 He defined talent as the combination of right knowledge, right skills, right competence and right attitude. Knowledge acquiring is a continuous process and one has to believe in life-long learning. He said that organisation and the position also have to be made rewarding to attract talented individuals.

 Dr. Suresh Kumar, HP University, Shimla expressed that Talent identification and management has been prevalent in India from ancient times. He quoted examples from Indian scriptures Ramayana and Mahabharata to support his point. He stressed on the importance of interdisciplinary knowledge and a positive learning attitude for talent development. He further highlighted that one of the greatest challenges of today for HR managers is talent retention. There is no dearth of talent in India (36% employees at NASA and 34% at IBM are Indians). He gave the 123 formula for effective talent management according to which hire 1 man, pay him the salary of 2 and give him the work of 3.

 The Second Session was on topic ‘HR in Global Economy Emerging Trends’

Mr Shashank Jagirdar, Vice President, TUI talked about HR in global economy and the effects of these changes in India.  He said HR in global economy has to be concerned about issues like mergers and acquisition. He stated that there are certain sectors that are witnessing speedy growth and HR has a major role to play.  Improving HR is not like improving product quality. The main issues that HR has to deal with are cultural shock, keeping employees motivated, compensation for efforts and understanding strengths and weakness. The new challenges for HR manager are corporate recognition, changing demographics, reforms for work place, changed expectation of employee and a new industrial relation approach. He shared 2 clippings to prove that India is on the march and performing extremely well.

 Mr. J. S Ghuman, GM. HR and Administration PunCom talked about the rapid changes in business environment. He said that the frequency of innovations has increased and one can witness lots of innovation in ones life span. Also there is reduced gap between maturity and inception. In the face of changing business environment the organization does not have much time to change. They look forward to a diversification that’s non linear in nature and also discontinuous. The source of competitive advantage is innovation.

 Mr. Shastri Ramachandran, Associate Editor, The Tribune deliberated on new paradigm in HR. He said the organization need to change the overall strategy for HR in the face of changing business environment. New issues are surfacing for HR to resolve. Human resource Planning process has to be in tune with the changes. He also identified certain issues like attrition, succession planning, leadership, employee development work fore deployment and redeployment.

He further talked about quantifying the HR functions. He enumerated the most important functions of HR. He said hiring is an independent profile center. The HR manager has to manage the workforce diversity and also technology, which is a necessary evil. The HR functions should be judiciously outsourced. He advocated outsourcing and also presented two case studies of successful outsourcing of HR helpdesk and Exit interviews. He stated that outsourcing can improve the overall functioning of the organization.

 All that is required is to build functional teams, motivate & train them to achieve school to kill type efficiency in their respective fields. 

 In The Third Session was on topic ‘HR: Imperatives, Challenges and Solutions’

Dr. M. A. Zahir, Chairman VP-HR, Trident Group, Synetic Business School, Ludhiana opened Panel Discussion by giving his valuable views on the theme and raised the following three issues:

1.   HR Imperatives

2.   Challenges before HR people

3.   Solution of challenges

Panel members expressed their diversified view in different context.

 Col M.S Dhaliwal, VP (Admin) Groz Beckert said that main challenge is the implementation of HR practices with values & ethics and reduction of tension among working employees, arising due to rapid changes in environment. He further maintained that power, authority and speed of command are the imperatives. He found solutions of challenges through Knowledge Management.

 Dr. Upasna Joshi, Head –HR, Regional Centre, Punjabi University, Mohali perceived HR Imperative as challenge of encashing opportunity with positive attitude. She said that solution is to maintain growth of working force with mission & vision of organization. She focused on the service, quality and productivity. In her opinion it is difficult to retain useful employees. She also said that solution is to be aware of the employees problems & offering them feasible & possible solution. One has to be proactive in meeting the expectations of the talented workers and keep them engaged

 Mr. Keshav Sachdev remarked that challenges may be totally different for different HR Heads keeping in view the nature of industry and rate of rapid changes in environment. Further, there is no single formula to face the said challenges. Every HR Head should use innovative techniques to solve the challenges in the limelight of global & domestic environment.

 Towards the end, Er. A.C. Sharma , Director HRD & Admin, CGC delivered the vote of thanks and thanked all the speakers who made a valuable contribution to the proceedings of the seminar. He also thanked the delegates, Students, faculty members who made untiring efforts to plan and execute the seminar in a clock like precision. He also thanked the media and others for their contribution to the seminar.    

 Overall the seminar was a grand success and provided the students a good number of speakers to share their views on various sub themes of the seminar.


 National Seminar on “e - Governance for Good Governance”

Chandigarh Business School organized a National Seminar on “e - Governance for Good governance” on Saturday March 15, 2008 at CBS campus, Landran”, Mohali. Mr. Ramesh Inder Singh, I.A.S, Chief Secretary, Govt. of Punjab graced the occasion as Chief Guest & delivered the “Inaugural address”.

 Sh. N.S. Kalsi, I.A.S, Secretary Employment Generation & Secretary Technical Education, Punjab delivered the “key-note address”. 

The National Seminar comprised of three technical sessions. In the ‘First session’, the theme was “e - Governances : Empowering people through ITES” This session was addressed by Sh. Deepak Nanda, M.D. & C.E.O SME Business Services Ltd., Mr. Harish Gupta, IPS, Joint Commissioner Hyderabad, Mr. Lovneesh Chanana, Deputy General Manger, IBM & Mr. Rohit Singla, Project Director, HCL Info systems .

 The theme for the ‘Second technical session’ was “Changing role of Govt. as facilitator” The speakers for this session included Mr.Vevek Atray, Director Public Relation & Tourism, Chandigarh Administration, UT, Dr. Sanjay Tyagi, Additional Director & Centre  Head STPI, Dr. Mufeed Ahmed J&K University & Sh. Gurinder Pal Singh, Sr. Manager HR, Satyam Computers.

 The “Third session” was a panel discussion on “e - Governances, Challenges & Vision” The participants in this session included Dr. Mufeed Ahmed J&K University, Sh. Manmohan Singh Head IT Services Division, Semi-Conductor Laboratory, Mohali, Mr. Rohit Singla, Project Director, HCL Info systems & Mr. J.S Bhatia Director, C-DAC.

 Sh. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, Chandigarh Group of Colleges  delivered the welcome address, Dr. S.P.S. Bedi, Director, Chandigarh. Business School delivered the seminar over view & Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director Principal, CEC delivered the vote of thanks.
