Brief details of the event: An interactive international session for CBSA students was organized on 16th September, 2021 during Induction Program. The international session was conducted by Dr. Phuah Kit Teng on topic of “Could insects be the wonder food of the future?” The session was related to entomophagy, genetic modified food, green food, natural functional food and synthetic functional food. The discussion was also held on Global Food Security Index. The students’ attention was drawn to ranking of countries based on production, availability, and quality of food produced. The concepts of Entomotourism, food neophobia were centre of attention for students. The students were enlightened with the price vs protein and calcium found in insects. They enthusiastically participated in program. The session was attended by more than 800 students and faculty members of CBSA.
